Nobody enjoys a long commute and according to a recent survey carried out by AllCarLeasing.co.uk the maximum time that the average Brit is willing to travel for to get to work is 1 hour 14 minutes.
Overall on average men are willing to spend a little longer getting to their job, up to an 1 hour 29 minutes, whereas women wouldn’t like to travel any longer than 59 minutes. There was a stark difference in tolerance when it came to the north, south divide with Manchester residents only willing to commute 23 minutes per day, in comparison to Londoners, who’d be willing to spend 1 hour 30 minutes, travelling for work.
The survey not only looked at how long people were prepared to wait but also what caused the most frustration during their commute. Unsurprisingly the most irritating factor was getting stuck in traffic, with 63% of people saying this was the most frustrating part of their commute. With passengers not letting off others on public transport and people playing loud music the other two most annoying.
